This summer, I have been enjoying exploring local attractions, particularly the charming villages along the northern coast of Aberdeen. The weather has been delightful, and the distance—about an hour’s drive from my home—makes it perfect for a day trip.
This year marked my return to the area after nearly two years, following my previous destination, Crovie. During this trip, I visited Pennan and returned to Crovie, but I explored it from the sea by following the scenic coastal path from Gardenstown to Crovie. Gardenstown served as my starting point.
After a stroll around the local marina, I made my way to the Seatown adjacent to Gardenstown. It is a quaint little village with cottages nestled on the rocks, accessible via narrow streets. Most of the cottages are available for rent, making it hard to find locals. However, it’s well worth exploring to discover petite galleries and meet the talented artisans who create these precious works.
After touring Seatown and enjoying a light meal, I proceeded to Crovie. The path winds between the towering rocky coast and the sea, offering many memorable sights. The views are unforgettable, especially when the weather is as beautiful as it was for me on this occasion.
Unlike previous visits, Crovie was not “bathed” in waves this time. I had the chance to walk along the pier and see the village from a different perspective. I entourage everyone to visit this charming place.
