Gardenstown, Seatown and Crovie

This summer, I have been enjoying exploring local attractions, particularly the charming villages along the northern coast of Aberdeen. The weather has been delightful, and the distance—about an hour’s drive from my home—makes it perfect for a day trip.

This year marked my return to the area after nearly two years, following my previous destination, Crovie. During this trip, I visited Pennan and returned to Crovie, but I explored it from the sea by following the scenic coastal path from Gardenstown to Crovie. Gardenstown served as my starting point.

Pennan

Nestled away along the rugged coastline of Scotland lies Pannen, a quaint place that has escaped the hustle and bustle of modern life. Once a thriving fishing village, Pannen now stands as a charming reminder of simpler times, welcoming visitors to its serene embrace.

As you arrive, you’re greeted by a picturesque landscape of charming little houses perched against the rocky backdrop. The tranquillity that envelops this village immediately captivates your senses, making you feel a world apart from your daily concerns. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax, breathe deeply, and allow your worries to drift away with the tide.

Coastal Cuppie

If you find yourself wandering through the quaint fishing village of Pennan, you're in for a delightful surprise—there's a charming little cafe that has completely captivated my heart. Tucked away along the rocky shores, this hidden gem offers more than just a cup of coffee; it provides a moment of peace and serenity.

As I settled into this cosy spot, I was greeted by the rich aroma of delicious coffee served in a simple paper cup. It's the perfect accompaniment to the tranquillity that envelops the area. The blend of the sweeping sea views and the comforting warmth of the cafe creates an atmosphere that feels both enchanting and soothing.
